Existing Surface Overlay – if a suitable existing surface exists, we can skip most of the abovementioned steps. We start by preparing the existing surface and cleaning it with a high-pressure jet washer system and primer. The purpose of the primer is to remove most of the moisture, leaving the surface tacky.
The resin mix is then poured over the top, raked, and levelled to a thickness of 18-20mm. If any part of the surface is uneven, we’ll use resin stone to mass fill dips or sunken areas, bringing it to parity with the correct gradients.
Then we finish with a trowelled finish, sealing and closing the resin stone for a long-lasting, smooth finish. Once done, we jet wash the surface, leaving it immaculate.
Resin Bound or Resin Bonded Driveways
Customers can choose between two resin options – resin bound driveways and resin bond driveways. The difference is more than just in the spelling.
